Great News!!
Guild President Andrea Gustafson received a phone call Saturday evening October 7th from Jim and Sharon Hearns from Morris with a magnanimous offer. They will donate $5000.00 to the Guild Restoration, if matching funds are met to "The Show Must Go On donation fund,"
Our Community Has Come together and
helped us...immensely!!!!
But More help is still needed to restore our Theatre.

The Show Must Go On Donation Fund has been set up at The Morris Building And Loan at 211 East Jefferson Street in Morris 815-942-3232. If you can help, we ask checks or money orders be sent to the Morris Theatre Guild address, 507 Liberty Street, Morris Illinois 60450, and they will be forwarded via The United States Post Office.
We would also like to thank, OF COURSE, Robert Coleman and the entire Morris Fire Department, Minooka Fire Department and the Coal City Fire Department for there swift and courageous fight that thwarted the fire.

WCSJ/WJDK Radio in Morris for their friendship and courtesy over the years, and Mike Haensel's professional "on the air" live account of the event. Mike was an actor and lighting technician at one time at the Guild. Mike helped build, and performed upon the very stage that burned. I actually had the privilege of directing him in "Tribute!"

for following the event so closely, and keeping the community up to date with
the details and photos. And keeping in touch with US, which kept the area
communities aware.
Actually Jim Hearn said to Guild President
Andrea Gustafson, it was only after reading the Saturday edition of the Morris
Daily Herald, and the ad about the Guild fire that prompted him to make that
very generous offer!
The Joliet Herald for their accurate accounts, photos, great moral support, and continued interest in the future of The Morris Theater Guild.
First United Methodist Church in Morris for allowing us to conduct emergency board meetings in one of their class rooms.
Lesa's Liberty Street Cafe, for supplying coffee to the firefighters and their effort to fight the fire, and Guild members as well as passerby's, along with offering Morris Theatre Guild Board Of Directors, the use of her cafe as meeting place the morning of the blaze.
Mike Fleming and Marquette Properties for his insight and a $100.00 donation. This was the $100.00 donation that actually started, The Show Must Go On Donation Fund.
